Welcome to the Traffic Information web site for the South-Coast Region.
The South Coast Region is one of three Main Roads regions in the
south-east corner. It encompasses Australia's sixth largest, and
one of its fastest growing cities, the Gold Coast. The South Coast
Region stretches from Beenleigh in the north to the New South Wales
border in the south. The beautiful coastline forms the eastern boundary,
and the region reaches inland to about 30 km west of Boonah.
The South Coast Region manages over 1000 km of State-Controlled Roads in
one of the most densely populated parts of Queensland. A drive on the
roads
in the area will take you along the world-famous coastal strip, and
through the Gold Coast hinterland, which boasts beautiful rainforests,
waterfalls and quaint townships. This Department of Main Roads region
also encompasses Boonah and Beaudesert - shires known for their
rural landscapes and country
hospitality.
Some of the major roads linking the areas in this region are:
- Pacific Motorway
- Gold Coast Highway
- Cunningham Highway
- Mt Lindesay Highway
- Smith Street Motorway
- Tamborine Mountain Road
- Running Creed Road
